Where do you start when you're creating a brand new fragrance?My inspiration for Viva by Fergie stems from my love of fougeres – the fresh yet sexy 'scent family' that's traditionally reserved for men.
Did you have a 'Eureka' moment in the whole process? I wanted to construct a feminine twist on traditional male fragrance for Fergie. I began by imagining her, ever so confident, wearing her husband’s crisp, white, button-down shirt. I wanted to capture this sexy - almost unexpected appeal in a bottle. This was the exact moment that inspired me.
What about the ingredients? There seem to be so many layers here in a single spritz? Well, what can I say? Brilliantly fresh, rich top notes marry a heart of black lavender, paper whites and hydroponic star orchid. The luxurious backdrop soothes and comforts with creamy-soft suede, cashmere woods and intimate skin musk, an addictive, fascinating essence that represents a deeply sensual and wildly confident woman.
What is it that makes you proud of this new fragrance? It has created a new interpretation of freshness in women’s florals. Uncharted territory for Avon fine fragrance! Playing with bold ingredients and incorporating Fergie’s edgy, fearless beauty and femininity allowed me to explore limitless ideas.
